My tasting notes:

Nose: The nose is fresh and citrusy, green apples and pears, citrus zest, hints of mint, floral honey, orange marmalade with a sprinkle of cinnamon, salty coastal breeze, some oak spice. Underneath it all there are some industrial oily notes but they’re very well integrated. Wow…!

Palate: The palate is oily and quite sweet with some salted caramel mixed with biscuits and citrus fruit again (orange, tangerine) before dried oak, spices and slight industrial notes come to play. There are some wax elements as well as some subtle peat notes in the background. Delicious!

Finish: The finish is long and quite drying. Nutmeg, slight nuttiness, some oak spice, cinnamon, more maritime and mineral notes, with not much fruit on the finish.

With water: A few drops of water add some wax and some slight aniseed notes to the nose, the palate become even more syrupy with a nice balance of sweet and savoury notes, the finish gains in sweetness with more caramel notes and a whiff of warming peat smoke lingers around for quite a bit.

3rd dram from the Dalswinton Series, and another amazing release. Very hard to pick a winning one so far but I am always partial to some maritime and industrial funk…!

Bring on the next one!

Slàinte all!

Thanks again to @claxtonsspirits for the sample.
