My tasting notes:
Nose: The nose is fruity and creamy, yellow peaches, melon, vanilla cream, some HP heather notes, tame oak spice stewed apples, some milk/white chocolate and pear, honey, hints of cedar wood !
Palate: The palate is malty and chocolaty first with lots of juicy sultanas, fresh tangerines, some mixed spice, runny caramel, crème brûlée, milk chocolate, black grape juice, blackberry jelly. Some oak spice appears on the mid to late palate and runs through the finish. This is a very tasty malt but a little more delicate than I was anticipating!
Finish: The finish is gently drying with oak spice and some fruity sweetness, dried fruit and candied fruit. There is still some milk chocolate and nuts kicking around.
With water: A few drops of water add a little more spice and dark fruit to the nose and dials the creaminess down, the palate also become spicier and more citrusy, the finish is not as sweet and fruity but also more citrusy (orange and lemon)
The 4th dram from the Dalswinton Series, this Highland Park 35 is delicious but the experience for me is slightly below the one I got with the previous 3.
Bring on the last one!
Slàinte all!
Thanks again to @claxtonsspirits for the sample.
