My tasting notes:
Nose: The nose is gently sweet, fruity and floral with notes of jasmin, orange blossom, lemon zest, crème anglaise and fresh vanilla pods.
Palate: The palate is definitely Clynelish with some fruity, waxy elements, there is some oak notes, white peach and underripe apple, there’s also some mineral notes and a little fizz on the late palate (I don’t know why but it somehow reminds me of Perrier water)
Finish: The finish is quite drying with some oak spice, slightly dusty, white pepper and still some waxy fruitiness.
With water: A few drops of water add some sweet waxiness to the nose, the palate gains in dried oak (old bookcase), the finish is slightly rounder, warmer and less spicy.
That’s an incredibly tasty dram to start of the series, still fresh despite the time spent in an oak barrel!
Bring on the next one!
Slàinte all!
Thanks again to @claxtonsspirits for the sample.
